Summer School FAQs

Summer School is closed.

1. What are the dates of summer school?
July 5th to July 28th (we do not offer extensions, students who do not finish will need to finish during the following school year with eLearning or can take a .25 credit if they finish half of the course with a 60%).  There is no penalty for finishing early and you can take your final whenever you are ready!

2. Where will the Student Learning Center be located?   This year we will be located on the campus of the Edmonds Woodway campus.  Our times will be 10am to 2pm.  On July 28th, we will have a half day and be available from 10-12.

3. Is the student learning center required? Attendance is not required during the summer, however if you are new to summer school WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND that students come in the first week of school for help and support.  Students are welcome to come in as much as they would like.

4. What if my course does not appear on the course offerings list on the Enrollment Form?  Unfortunately we can only offer the courses that are listed at this time.

5. What are the main requirements for online summer school courses?

  • Use your assignment calendar (under reports) to stay on track- your course will move very quickly in this short amount of time.
  • Internet/Computer access- if no, you will need to come into the SLC daily.
  • Come in for help as soon as you need it- even one day in summer school can be time costly.
  • Email your teacher with questions or issues that you are having as soon as they arise.
  • Completing all work and taking the final exam.
  • Take good notes- you can use notes on all your quizzes, tests, and finals.
  • The Final Exam is the one item you need to take on site and is proctored.

6. What is the cost of summer school?  The cost is $50 for incoming Juniors and Seniors for credit recovery and all students taking Washington State History.  The cost is $225 for all other aged students and students taking new credit.  Language courses will cost $275 and will be taught by Edgenuity teachers (not Edmonds School District staff) and will last longer (into August).

  • What if I need help paying my summer school tuition?  We unfortunately do not have scholarships for students.  Please see your school counselor or community advocate for help with this.  If you are a current full time eLearning student, please see Katie
  • You can make payment by credit card through the "In Touch" system or you can pay by check at the Edmonds Woodway High School office or send by mail to:    Edmonds-Woodway High School  7600 212th Street SW  Edmonds, WA  98026  Attn:  Summer School Registrar.
7.  How do I contact my teachers?  Teachers can be messaged through the Student Information System (the site they access to get to their course).  Your teacher will also send you a welcome email to this system as well.  All teachers and emails will be listed on our website under "Summer School Staff".
