Microsoft Office Specialist (S1 and S2)

Course Description

This two-semester course introduces students to the features and functionalities of Microsoft® Office® 2010 while preparing them for the Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certification program. Through video instruction, interactive skills demonstrations, practice assignments, and unit-level assessments, students become proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook. By the end of the course, students are prepared to take one or more MOS certification exams.

Course Features

• Direct-instruction videos introduce new skills and concepts.
• Interactive tasks are present throughout each lesson, which also serve as formative
assessments. These tasks give students the opportunity to check their understanding and
provide immediate feedback to help clarify understanding.
• Hands-on assignments throughout the course provide students with the opportunity to relate the information they have learned to the major lesson objectives.
• Vocabulary support is provided throughout the course to help students comprehend common acronyms, terms, and phrases.
